The opening of the exhibition "Neue Malerei" in the new rooms of the Neue Kunst Gallery in Karlsruhe had already sold over half of the works.
The opening ceremony on 30.11.2008 took place together with the "Galleries am Zirkel" e.g. with the gallery of Art Karlsruhe organizer Ewald Schrade. With the move to the new central rooms directly in the shopping area, the gallery of Michael Oess will take a star seat in the up-and-coming art city of Karlsruhe. With this special highlight, the exhibition series 2008 culminated.
The first presentation in the Neue Kunst Gallery, Karlsruhe also showed the first screens of the newly developed "Nebel" series. The technique of the "painted Cities" series has proven itself and could even be further refined. As a result, for example, the fog hides countless gradations of dilute ink with even more details, which one must first rediscover - but even in the new views of the city, the filigree drawing now extends over the entire pictorial space, including the sky, house walls and streets...
The suspense increases: The drawing condenses and becomes independent of the painting, the overall compositions become looser again and the painting freer...

The rooms in St.Apern Street 42-46 of Galerie Reitz were recently enlarged and renovated so that we now have a very beautiful and extensive exhibition there.
Some bag objects and the "Phitz Philm" videos revive a bit of the typical "Bag City flair" of museum installations.
At the opening, Dr. Ing. Kathinka Dittrich van Weringh (Chair of the Board of Trustees of the European Cultural Foundation) held a speech.

Thitz - the watercolors
After the first big exhibition in 2000, the focus will now be on the unique watercolors of Thitz. This "collection" of impressions that Thitz almost like a journalist holds on his travels around the world, shows a kind of basic repertoire from which the artist develops his large canvas works.

The Thitz exhibition in the most important cultural center of the city of Athens in the middle of the central shopping and museum district "Kolonaki" is considered one of the most versatile Thitz exhibitions of recent years. In addition to current large-format canvas works, the fine paper works, some objects and the bag project (as an installation) were also on display in the exhibition hall. The installation "Bag Art Globe" was one of the most successful elements of the exhibition.
Curator of the exhibition: Mrs. Angela Dikeoulia (Gallery Art Cargo Angela Dikeoulia)
Organizer: Mrs. Karla Baer Manolopoulou (Clean up greece).
Numerous prominent personalities could be won for brief introductions and of course for bag painting. Among them were Georg Dimopoulos Vice Mayor for the Environment and Dimitris Pantasidis, Director of the Press Office of the Cultural Center of the City of Athens.
The laudatory speech by the Deputy Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Guy Feaux de la Croix, was very interesting, above all because of the philosophical, art historical references, and was presented in an exciting way. (The text can be found under "Texts" (english))
The large plastic "Giant Bag" was built directly in front of the stately building complex. The super nice catalog, the exhibition and the bag project were organized by the Cultural Department of the City of Athens and by the environmental organization "Clean up greece" as part of the Eco-Art Festival.
Some of the exhibited works were subsequently shown in the exhibition "ART CARGO" 4.6.- 18.6. shown in Athens.
