Woo Gallery is one of the major galleries in Busan and represents Thitz  at several art fairs in Korea.  In the exhibition in Busan a selection of new works by Thitz will be shown, including several city motifs from New York, Barcelona, London, Venice, Tokyo, Seoul, Cologne and Munich.

The artist creates the "Thitz World" by putting the bags and the stories together: his alluring world is full of the urban stories. When you listen to the conversation in the artworks one by one, you will find out yourself falling into his world. The bags in his works is the unique method of communication that make the people close to each other and allow them to enter his domain. The world of Thitz, filled with vivid stories of the city, is developed into a utopian urban space, as the fantastic plants are put together with the complicated structures. This shows the creator’s constant concern and research on the sustainable lifestyle toward the future. Since there are so many charming cities around the world, he would never lose a flash of the inspiration, said Thitz. I hope we travel the beautiful places within his works. 

도시 그리고 유토피아
독일의 작가 티츠는 쇼핑백과 이야기들을 켜켜이 쌓아 ‘티츠의 세계’를 만들어낸다. 도시의 이야기가 가득한 ‘티츠의 세계’는 현란하고도 매혹적이다. 티츠의 작품 속에 담긴 이야기들을 하나씩 따라가다보면 어느새 그의 세계로 빠져들어가 있는 나를 마주 하게 된다. 작품에 등장하는 쇼핑백은 사람들에게 어필하고 서로 친밀해지게 하며 그의 세계로 들어가게 하는 화가 고유의 소통방식이다.
도시의 생생한 이야기들이 가득하던 ‘티츠의 세계’는 복잡성 가득한 도시 구조에 상상 속 식물들이 더해 지면서 유토피아적인 도시공간으로 발전한다. 이는 미래를 향한 지속가능한 라이프 스타일에 대해 끊임 없이 고민하고 연구하는 화가의 생각이 반영된 결과이다.
세상에는 너무나 아름다운 도시들이 많아서 작품에 대한 아이디어가 고갈 될 수가 없다고 화가는 말한다. 그의 작품을 통해 다시 한번 세계의 아름다운 도시를 여행할 수 있길 바래본다.

German artist Thitz puts a new spin on the tradition of the artist on the Grand Tour: he paints city scenes upon paper bags scavenged in the places he visits. The bags are opened out flat for maximum coverage, and the paintings are executed with acrylics in energetic delineations of bird's-eye views of individual landmarks. With his bag art, Thitz takes Pop Art to the next level: he intensifies it and integrates it with everyday reality, art, life, and sensorial experience. His subjects and motifs are born of wide travels. The cities and places depicted can be immediately recognized, but they do not merely portray views. They are transformations into the colorful, lineal weave of Thitz’s art. The rich, infinitely detailed circumstances are translated into a vivid and diverse narrative tissue of line-like events.

Founded 2002, the DavisKlemmGallery has moved into a new location as of June 2017. The building has the shape of an irregular quadrilateral (no sides are parallel). The gallery's focus is on contemporary art. The gallery has been participating at national and international art fairs for years. The main focus, nonetheless, is on the gallery exhibitions, where both works made by artists of the gallery as well as new positions can be presented on a regular basis.

Erika Davis-Klemm: "The Rhine-Main-Area has been my home now for over 30 years. Our new building is a sign of our commitment to art and our artists.

"We represent Thitz - known for his paintings on shopping bags - in the Republic of Korea. Since 1985 bags have played a key role in his work. Today his paintings on bags are part of museum as well as private collections all over the world. Thitz lives and works near Stuttgart and has a studio in Berlin. Collections: Frieder Burda, Baden-Baden; Würth, Künzalsau; Museum Offenburg

The gallery first showed Thitz's work at the Kiaf Fair and other fairs in Korea in 2010 and then continuously every year until 2021. This led to cooperation with local collections and museums (Rumian Colection and Photography Museum Seoul) and with de Woo Gallery Busan, which continues today. Until 2015 DavisKlemm represented THITZ in the Munich branch until it was closed.
