Vernissage mit Thitz.
Für Thitz ist das Reisen durch die Welt wesentlicher Bestandteil und auch Thema seiner Malerei. Seine Reisen führten ihn in den letzten Jahren unter anderem durch Marokko, Island, Brasilien, in die USA, nach Norwegen, Korea, Ecuador, Mexiko, Thailand, Indien, Türkei, Nepal und nach Südafrika. Für Thitz bedeutet das Reisen zweifelsohne Inspiration, Kommunikation und Austausch mit Menschen, ein Dialog mit fremden Kulturen.
An die technischen Möglichkeiten unserer Zeit knüpft Thitz gesellschaftliche Ideale. Er nutzt das Gewimmel der Großstädte, um uns seine friedliche und vor allem kommunikative Version einer globalisierten Welt vorzuführen.Braune, rote, grüne oder blaue Menschen, manche ganz klein, andere riesengroß, wieder andere mit Blättern bewachsen leben hier harmonisch beisammen.
Thitz ist ein großartiger Erzähler und in seinen Arbeiten sind unglaublich viele Details zu entdecken. Seine Tüten platzen schier vor Lebenslust und schöpferischer Freude. Seine Kunst ist einzigartig und er hat es geschafft, selbst eine „Marke” zu werden.

German artist Thitz puts a new spin on the tradition of the artist on the Grand Tour: he paints city scenes upon paper bags scavenged in the places he visits. The bags are opened out flat for maximum coverage, and the paintings are executed with acrylics in energetic delineations of bird's-eye views of individual landmarks. With his bag art, Thitz takes Pop Art to the next level: he intensifies it and integrates it with everyday reality, art, life, and sensorial experience. His subjects and motifs are born of wide travels. The cities and places depicted can be immediately recognized, but they do not merely portray views. They are transformations into the colorful, lineal weave of Thitz’s art. The rich, infinitely detailed circumstances are translated into a vivid and diverse narrative tissue of line-like events.
