The show attracts an elite roster of national and international galleries, acclaimed artists, highly regarded curators, architects, design professionals, along with discerning collectors. Since its inception, the LA Art Show has spear-headed the rise of the city as a world-class art destination. The 25th Annual LA Art Show, the most comprehensive international contemporary art show in America, will officially kick-off the city’s art season at the Los Angeles Convention Center on February 5, 2020. This year will be the largest lineup of art and programming in the city’s history, with the LA Art Show leading the way. For the 2020 edition of the fair, the LA Art Show will be premiering the European Pavilion, a brand new programming section comprised of contemporary European galleries. The pavilion will be a celebration of the profound influence that European art has had on the world, with participating galleries curating exhibits that highlight the various movements and stylistic developments that have defined much of Western art.
Among the total of 15 invited European galleries, THITZ's One Artist Show at Neue Kunst Gallery is the representative of Germany. An exclusive selection of representative and current THITZ works will be shown.

ART KARLSRUHE 13 - 16 February 2020
Since Thitz was on one of his first trips to the headwaters of the Amazon in 1989, he has painted countless watercolour studies in the primeval forests, landscapes and mountains of India, Mexico, Iceland, South Africa, Guatemala, USA, Thailand, Brazil and many more. This collection is Thitz's basis to investigate the civilisational interaction between man and nature. In the course of the "Utopian Civilizations" series, which was created parallel to the journeys Thitz was able to investigate human interventions in specific natural situations even more intensively. The main work of the new series, a 2.80m high Amazon Utopia, also resists the trend of media-effective dystopian depictions of world destruction and instead explores feasible ways of bringing us humans and nature back together.
Thitz is not concerned with a superficial treatment of long since manifested knowledge, he wants to present his utopia to us in an emotionally comprehensible way. The many details of representational and semi-abstract ciphers that run through the entire surface, even his large-format paintings, serve here as readable paths that slowly but surely lead our thoughts into the depths of that poetically abstract knowledge, that touches our innermost being at precisely those receptors, that emit the possibility of cognition of a positive and life-affirming world view.
At the ART KARLSRUHE at the Booth Hall 3 / J32 of the Galerie Rothamel, Thitz will again present a selection his artistic work. Besides the incredible Amazonas work there will be new works on motifs such as London - over and under water - Paris, Berlin, Hong Kong, New York and of course Venice where Thitz was allowed to carry out his special bag project at the last Biennale. In addition, 2 brand new "mountain pictures" will be presented - motifs of a utopian civilization in the mountains which have been purchased by various museums since their first presentation 2 years ago and are chronically sold out.
"Thitz is a master of the animated cityscape. New York, Tokyo, Milano, he has painted all the big metropolises, in acrylic and ink over bags on canvas, the handles protruding at the edge of the picture as a distinctive mark. For a long time it was loud, colorful, vital,
hectic and smelled like big crossings. Since a few years it has become quieter: Thitz is greening his world, covering his cities with rampant forests or putting them under water. Cars no longer exist. With this he is leading the trend by far,
Thitz before Greta. While others are still arguing about how to go on, he can sit back in Olympic style and mature into a futuristic classic. Thus we see, reflected in Thitz's works, the future of our planet through the telescopes of a time machine. Berlin and New York are still activist, there is greenery that makes the stems crack, and time seems to have passed by the old metropolises without a trace. Paris lies under a silvery shimmering sky. In Venice, bags drift leisurely down the Grand Canal towards Dougana - suddenly it seems as if Canaletto and Thitz had been sitting next to each other at the easels, looking over each other's shoulders. Venice!? Shouldn't that sink? No, even in the Thitz era the Serenissima rises from the lagoon completely unimpressed. And everything else has turned out well - the jungle is proliferating along the Amazon and even lovers of vital capitalist optics still get their money's worth: in Hong Kong - but only on foot!
