„In his paintings, Thitz captures the screamingly colorful, stimulus-flooded world of today's megacities. However, the sadness or loneliness of people that is echoed here and there is overcome by hopeful slogans that recall traditional values as well as calling for ecological awareness. The apocalypse holds the positive vision of new opportunities: "The future is now".
Dr. Norbert Michels, Director Museum Anhaltische Gemäldegalerie Dessau
At the Art Karlsruhe the newest Thitz works are traditionally presented. This year these are very special "Utopian Cities". Thitz explains that very typically: "The "Utopian Civilizations" Series was once created by investigating the development possibilities of urban centers and megacities. The ubiquitous longing of the city's inhabitants is now manifested concretely in "hybrid architecture" and the greening of previously inaccessible areas on roofs and facades or the Highline Parks in New York and Paris as well as the floating gardens on the Seine. While working on a huge New York Future work, I had the idea of what would happen if instead of a symptom-related view, people broadened their view and decided to let their entire civilization follow longing. At a really beautiful place in the forest, in the meadow or even in the high mountains or under water, a civilization would have to emerge that would not rob the inhabitants of the reason why they came here. So the dwellings. Shopping malls, kindergartens and clubs must be built in such a way that the beauty of nature would remain intact.“ Thitz has already visualized pictures from this series - but of course he doesn't stop here .... "What if the newly invented architecture in the form of huge habitable plants such as blades of grass, gigantic trees and aquatic plants were to find its way back into the "Old Cities"? Like New York, London, Paris and Berlin. "Thitz has managed to depict each of these cities at least once - curious? Seen at the THITZ One-Artist Show of Art Karlsruhe at booth J 32 of Galerie Rothamel .
